Lorde may never become a royal, but at the 2014 American Music Awards, she's set to share the same stage as Britain's most popular band and The Dutchess.

The soon-to-be-18-year-old singer will headline this year's AMAs along with One Direction and Fergie, both of whom have new albums on the horizon. Fergie will perform her new single "L.A. Love" while 1D will play a song from their impending album Four.

Lorde hasn't announced a sophomore album yet, but she is the creative curator ofThe Hunger Games: Mockingjay Pt. 1 soundtrack. Fingers crossed she bringsMiguel & Chemical Brothers to perform their Hunger Games collabo.

Lorde is up for four AMAs this year, while Iggy Azalea leads the pack with six noms. Previously announced performers include 5 Seconds of Summer, Sam Smith, Mary J. Blige and Charli XCX.

Pitbull is set to host the Nov. 23 ceremony, which will be broadcast live from L.A.'s Nokia Theatre.

Kris and Corey were joined in the jet by Kim, Khloe, Kanye and their other friends. So her daughters have met her new man.

US to Recognize Same-Sex Marriage in 6 More States

The federal government is recognizing gay marriage in six more states and extending federal benefits to those couples, Attorney General Eric Holder announced Saturday.

Gay marriage recently became legal in Alaska, Arizona, Idaho, North Carolina, West Virginia and Wyoming.

The government's announcement follows the U.S. Supreme Court's decision earlier this month to decline to hear appeals from five states that sought to keep their marriage bans in place. It brings the total number of states with federal recognition of gay marriage to 32, plus the District of Columbia.

He killed one, injured four, who are in critical condition at the hospital, and then he took his own life by shooting himself in the head with his father's gun.

Jaden Smith Challenges All the Rappers Who are Better than Him to Show It

*Jaden Smith is calling out all the rappers who are better than him to please stand up.

“Dear everybody who can rap better than me. Please show me,” he tweeted.

Smith recently used his sister’s (Willow Smith) Soundcloud account to release a track called “Melancholy” — rapping over a sample of Pink Floyd‘s “Breathe.”

But Smith wasn’t done calling out other rappers on Twitter. He followed up with, “cause I got 2 or 3 albums in stock already” and “just just give me the word.”

Barack Obama Told by Jealous Boyfriend: "Mr. President, Don't Touch My Girlfriend"—Watch Now!

Barack Obama did his part to play nice at the polls!

On Monday afternoon, the president was casting his vote early for Chicago's midterm elections when he encountered a jealous boyfriend with a big mouth! The boyfriend, identified by Today as Mike Jones, addressed Obama as he voted alongside Jones' gal Aia Cooper, saying, "Mr. President, don't touch my girlfriend now."

"Did you just say that?" asked Cooper.

Obama heard Jones loud and clear, though, and without missing a beat, he responded flatly, "You know, I really wasn't planning on it."

Cooper apologized for her boyfriend's immaturity, but that wasn't the end of it. "Now, there's an example of a brother just embarrassing you for no reason," remarked Obama. "Just for no reason whatsoever!"

"I knew he was going to say something smart," said the girlfriend somewhat embarrassedly, "but I didn't know what he was gonna say."

The president wasn't through with it, though! "And now, you'll be going back home and talking to your friends about, 'I can't believe—' what's his name?...'I can't believe Mike. Mike: He is such a fool.'"

"Fortunately," Obama continued, mimicking Jones' girlfriend, "the president was nice about it, so it was all right."

Luckily for the couple, Obama did, indeed, have a sense of humor about the whole thing. "It's all right," he said. "Mike seems like a decent guy."

As Obama and Cooper parted ways, though, the president joked, "Give me a kiss and give him something to talk about!" Then, after planting a tiny kiss on Jones' girlfriend's cheek, he joked, "Now, he's really jealous!"

NEW YORK (RNS) At a moment when American churches and politicians are warring over gay rights and same-sex marriage, each side needs every soldier it can muster. Conservatives are about to learn that one of America’s leading evangelical ethicists is defecting to the opposition.

David Gushee, a Distinguished University Professor of Christian Ethics at Mercer University, a Baptist college and divinity school in Georgia, plans to announce that he now affirms same-sex relationships, in a speech to The Reformation Project Conference, a gathering of pro-LGBT Christians in Washington, on Nov. 7.

“I do join your crusade tonight,” Gushee’s prepared remarks say, according to a draft obtained by Religion News Service. “I will henceforth oppose any form of discrimination against you. I will seek to stand in solidarity with you who have suffered the lash of countless Christian rejections. I will be your ally in every way I know how to be.”

First case of Ebola recorded in New York

A US doctor based in New York who recently returned from treating Ebola patients in Guinea has become the first person in the city to test positive for Ebola. 33 year old Dr. Craig Allen Spencer (pictured above) had been working with Doctors Without Borders in Guinea, and returned to NYC on October 17th. He tested positive to the virus the Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan New York yesterday October 23rd.

He and three other people he had contact with in recent days, including his girlfriend have been placed in isolation at the Bellevue hospital. He's officially the 4th person to test positive on American soil.

Many are alarmed at this new case due to the population of the city but the New York mayor while confirming the recent case said New Yorkers have nothing to fear

"We want to state at the outset, there is no reason for New Yorkers to be alarmed. Ebola is a very hard disease to contract." Mayor Bill de Blasio said
